As a professional chamber and public institution in which companies from all economic sectors – except crafts and agriculture – are represented, the Chamber of Commerce sees its role in defending the interests of its affiliated Luxembourg companies. Since the Chamber of Commerce’s member companies often pursue conflicting interests, the Chamber of Commerce sees it as its main task to represent and defend the interests of all its affiliated companies. In certain cases, the Chamber of Commerce can also defend the interests of individual sectors of the economy, as long as this does not involve any disadvantages for the other members. Today, the Chamber of Commerce has more than 90,000 member companies, which together account for 75% of the labour market and 80% of GDP.
