The purpose of the \u2018mutualit\u00e9\u2019 is to protect employers against the financial risk of the continuation of the payment of wages to workers (Lohnfortzahlung) who are incapacitated for work, an employer-related obligation enjoyed by all employees in accordance with the law of 13 May 2008.<\/span><\/p>\n

Self-employed persons and agricultural workers may join the Mutualit\u00e9 voluntarily and pay contributions on an optional basis to cover the same risk for themselves.<\/p>\n
