The Alphonse Weicker* Foundation, in collaboration with the National Institute for Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility (INDR) and UEL, will award its first Sustainable Economic Progress Award to a Luxembourg company in 2019.

The Sustainable Economic Progress Award will reward a company that has demonstrated its exemplary contribution to sustainable development through its CSR strategy that takes into account its economic, social and environmental impacts. The evaluation criteria will focus on the materiality of the adopted CSR themes, stakeholder involvement or consultation, creation of shared value, innovation and sharing.

With this prize, worth EUR 10.000, the Alphonse Weicker Foundation is helping to promote the CSR strategy as a new requirement for companies, promoted in international standards such as ISO 26000 or GRI, and described in the chapter on the CSR strategy of the INDR CSR Guide. BGL BNP Paribas joins this action with a second prize of EUR 2.500 to be determined by the jury.

Are eligible, all companies holding the CSR label by INDR at 31 May 2019 who have submitted their application before 1 July 2019. These companies formalised their understanding of CSR as an opportunity to improve their governance, strengthen their social engagement and limit their environmental impacts. They thus ensure their own sustainability while generating positive and lasting impacts for society. They successfully responded to a coherent set of criteria of the INDR labeling approach, following an external audit.

The 2019 Sustainable Economic Progress Award rules is available on the INDR website.
